This Privacy Policy explains how MapX LLC (“mapx,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use mapx.co and related services — including team workspaces, the marketplace, and order proofs. By using mapx, you agree to this Policy.

Information We Collect

• Account information — your email address, and any name or profile details you provide when you sign up or sign in.
• Content you create or upload — maps, designs, images, sonar logs, bathymetry, GPS tracks, and other files, plus the settings used to generate them.
• Payment information — subscriptions and marketplace purchases are processed by Stripe. We receive limited details (such as the last four digits, billing status, and subscription state); we do not store full card numbers.
• Usage data — basic technical information such as device/browser type, pages viewed, and actions taken, used to operate and improve the service.
• Communications — messages, feedback, and support requests you send us, and your email if you join a waitlist.

How We Use Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the mapx service and generate the maps and files you request.
• Process subscriptions, marketplace transactions, and seller payouts.
• Communicate with you about your account, purchases, updates, and (if you opt in) launch or marketing emails.
• Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
• Analyze usage in aggregate to improve mapping quality, search, and features.

How Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run mapx, and as required by law:

• Stripe — payment processing and payouts.
• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage.
• Cloudflare and hosting/CDN providers — delivery and caching of the site and map data.
• Marketplace buyers — when you sell an item, the purchased file is delivered to the buyer.
• Legal — where required to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect rights and safety.

Teams & Shared Workspaces

If you create or join a team, some of your information is shared within that team so you can collaborate:

• Other members and administrators of your team may see content you mark as team-visible (maps, designs, uploaded files, depth charts) along with an author label such as your name or email.
• Team administrators may be able to view, manage, or remove content and orders created by members of the team.
• The account or organization that owns a team is responsible for managing its members and their access.

Only share information with a team that you are comfortable those members seeing.

Orders & Proofs

When you place or fulfill an order, we process the details needed to produce and deliver it — such as the design, product options, and any shipping or contact information provided. For custom items, a digital proof (a preview of your item) may be generated and shared for review:

• A proof may be shared via a link; anyone with that link may be able to view the proof preview, so treat proof links as confidential.
• We retain proof previews, approvals, and related order records for order history, dispute resolution, and legal or accounting requirements.
• Shipping and contact details you provide for an order are shared with the parties needed to fulfill and deliver it.

Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may retain certain records where required for legal, security, backup, or completed-transaction purposes.

Your Choices & Rights

• Access, update, or delete your account information, and request deletion of your account.
• Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in those emails.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, correction, deletion, or portability). To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

mapx is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

International Users

mapx is operated from the United States. If you use it from outside the U.S., your information may be processed and stored in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Continued use of mapx after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
